First Book!

Hey guys!

So the first book that Korin and I were planning to read is The White Man's Burden, by William Easterly. I realize that some of you may have read it already, so please feel free to put in your two cents about his views too! For those of you reading it for the first time, we figured 4 weeks would be enough time for each book. That will bring us to December 17th for this one. After that, we can use the super-fun Poll gadget on here to let everyone vote on the next book.

In the meantime, feel free to post away - comments/questions as you read, life updates, noteworthy news, and future book recommendations. Hopefully this will be a fun way to stay connected across oceans :) So happy reading and posting!

On the side bar on your right, you will see a lovely view of a few links to blogs which are updated daily with relevant articles and quality opinion pieces; definitely worth a look. Also, there is a new section to post quality news articles so we can keep up to date on what is happening in the world of development, aid, and human rights. Feel free to add links that you are interested in. 

Keep an eye out for a post about the first book we chose for the virtual book club and the general date when we will be discussing it. If you have any books you think should be on the list, go ahead and post them there!
